Pete's Coffee made it onto CSP's 20 great coffee programs for 2024 list, where Technomic Ignite Cons Pete started in 1966 in Berkeley, California, and is dedicated to crafting the perfect coffee cup. Pete sources the top 1% of coffee beans from the world's top growing regions, partnering with farmers and then roasting by hand. Pete's recent spring menu selects include the honey almond latte with almond milk, almond cold brew latte, and anniversary blend. There's also a member's only menu featuring both hot and cold beverages. Pete's is known for its seasonal menus and promotions, such as discounts on Earth Day for customers who bring their own cup. I recently went to a local Pete's to see if it lived up to the hype. I started off with the Burridi cold brew, which features freshly ground Burridi blend steeped with cold water for 12 hours to produce a sweet, smooth, and refreshing iced coffee without acidity or bitterness. Let's give it a taste. This is a really mild cold brew. Not a very bold, strong coffee flavor that hits you. It's very light, really easy to drink, but I'd say if you're looking for something that kind of hits you in the face, says, hey, I'm drinking coffee, maybe not the one for you. So it's really smooth and good. Next up was Pete's featured medi Brewed every 30 minutes so you get the most flavorful, freshest cup. Let's give it a taste. Mmm. It's hot. I'm going to have to try it again. This is another really smooth one. It's not an abrasive coffee. You can tell they really took their time honing it. Just a great, easy drinking, black coffee. It doesn't need a single thing. Next up was the iced honey almond latte with almond milk from the spring menu, but which can now be found on the members only menu. It infuses sweet and nutty flavors into a rich espresso forte. All right, let's give it a taste. Ooh, it's definitely sweet, especially after those black ones, but not in a bad way. You definitely get the honey, so it's not It's definitely a natural sweetness. But yeah, I'd say if you're a black coffee drinker, maybe not for you. If you want something that is a little bit on the sweeter side, All in all, Pete's Coffee Lineup is a good one for traditionalists and specialty drinkers a If you're a near one and need a coffee fix, I would recommend stopping in.
