Well stay tuned because we're going to teach you how to run your own munch. You've decided to host a munch and think wicket grounds would be the perfect space for it. First of all, thank you. Second, we're super excited for you. Hosting a munch can be an incredibly rewarding experience that grows your interests and your kinks. Let's take a look on how to get started and what the steps are to make that happen. But you can't just dive in, show up and hope for the best. After years of hosting events, we've come up with a system that works best for munch leaders and the cafe. Let's take a look. Step one, ask first. If you're gearing up to host a munch, you probably have a few folks in mind who would Step one is reaching out to those people and finding out when in the month, when in the week and what time of day they are most Now take those potential days and check it across the wicket grounds online calendar. You can find it at wicketgrounds. com or at aerobay. com. Check the days against the availability and you might find your perfect day. All right, you've done the research and now it's time to send an email to events at wicket grounds. com with all the information you've gathered. Subject lying, your munch, new body. Describe your munch, what day you'd Contact info, your contact info. And wait, we get a whole bunch of emails a day and depending on the time of the year, it could be a lot. So give it a little bit of time. Just make sure you don't go and try to message on FetLife, Facebook or anything that is not the events at wicketgrounds email. Step two, promoting. So once you've got the green light email, it's time to start considering promotion. Now personally when I was running a munch, I did weekly promotions leading up to the event but our general suggestions are as follows. Two weeks before. Create an event listing on FetLife and forward that event listing to events at wicketgrounds. com so that we can promote your munch using the language you've chosen to use. For the cost, make sure to list it as free but please support the cafe, buy merch, buy food or drink and tip your baristas. Also, post a link to your FetLife listing in the wicketgrounds FetLife group. That way we can get more eyes on it and as it gets closer to the event, we can b Do people still say b Finally, promote your munch everywhere you feel comfortable with. The more eyes on your event, the more excited kinksters will be in attendance. The link to the article is here and I'll post it in the description so you can check it out later. It's definitely worth a read. Step three, munch time. Your munch day is here. It's exciting and a little bit daunting but you've done great so far so let's give it the final push to make this a great munch. Arrive at least half an hour early and check in with the staff. As this is your first munch, do not hesitate to ask for assistance. We can help you find the card holders, chalk, reserve your tables and make announcement that there is a reservation. Secure your tables and mark them with our sign holders. Our sign holders will hold a cue card so we suggest you make your own signs and it's as easy as grabbing some cue cards and drawing with some sharpies. As your guests arrive, please encourage them to buy food, drink or books or merch. The room rental is free but this helps support the space and keep us going for more future munches. Also, please be on the lookout for outside food and drink as these are now out in the cafe for health code reasons. It's your job as a munch leader to uphold the rules of the cafe and will be depending on you. After hosting a few munches, you should be able to do all of this yourself but we completely empower you to still ask for help when it's needed. Two hours later, you've hosted your first munch. It's exhilarating. I know after my first munch, I couldn't wait to host the next one but before you go, make sure all the tables have been put back in their original positions and any mess that may have accidentally been left behind brought up and disposed of. This helps our staff really maintain control of the space and you're part of that experience. And there you go. You've hosted your first munch. Everything went amazing.
