Ten Drops derives its name from a Nordic/Icelandic custom called "Tíu dropar." In essence, it was considered customary to offer a visitor coffee, and it was considered rude for a visitor to reject that coffee... so you'd say "just ten drops" as in, just a little coffee, so as to avoid drinking a ridiculous amount of coffee throughout the day, as you run errands and visit friends, family, etc. Our goal is to bring independent, local, specialty coffee to Plainfield. We deserve a place to get beans that are within days of their roast date, not weeks or months. Those who understand specialty coffee, know the difference. Those who don't know what the fuss is about... maybe we can help. We will only offer things that we would be thrilled to drink. There is no good reason to drink bad coffee.
A local coffee shop is building their business from the ground up. We are the only third wave coffee shop and roaster in Will County, which is very surprising. Owned by five friends and located over the Naperville border in Plainfield, Tendrops roasts all their beans in-house, a process they demonstrated for us. Starts life as green coffee. So once you bring it in, you drop it into the center dr And they're just rotating around in the dr It's basically We'removing all the moisture from the inside of the green bean. During this part of the process, essentially you're at the mercy of time. You're just waiting for the coffee to do what it has to do on its own. Once the coffee hits dry end, that's when you start developing your flavors. And that is a batch of coffee. From here, each batch is hand-bagged and sealed within a day, ensuring maxim And only the best beans will do for these coffee aficionados. We want the absolute best of the best. We're dealing in such small n It may be a little bit more expensive than some other coffee, but hopefully after you taste the first cup of it, you understand why. To get that cup, you might have to wait a few minutes as there's no drip coffee in sight, but they promise it'll be worth it. The brewing process takes time. And when it takes a little bit longer for us, we're building the love into it. There's a lot of science and a lot of nerddom that went into the coffee we offer and the reasons that we want to do the things we do.
