Opening March 2017! The California Coffee Bar will serve as a gathering place for the people of Brighton Heights and the North Side, where delicious coffee and espresso-based drinks, teas, nitro cold brew coffee, cold press juices, and a daily seasonal menu will be served. Healthy seasonal foods will be made fresh daily. The name California Coffee Bar was chosen to demonstrate the community engagement commitment and the desire to work and utilize the local businesses that comprise the Shoppes at California – the business corridor of California Avenue in Brighton Heights. Despite the many healthy options, there will be a freshly baked treat featured every day such as Oram's Donuts and Cinnamon Rolls on Saturdays. The California Coffee Bar plans to work with local residents and business owners to serve as a cozy and comfortable place to gather with friends and neighbors, and provide space for local artists to exhibit work. There will be monthly special events, high tea reservations, and many other ways for people to come together. Some of our delicious menu items will include: Custom roasted coffees and espresso-based drinks Nut milks available for all drinks Cold press juices Oatmeal bar Yogurt Smoothies Protein shakes Daily freshly baked pastries and breads 5 daily seasonal lunch specials Nitro cold brew coffee
Our goal here is a few different things. First of all is to provide that employment boost that people need when they first arrive. It's also to provide a place where refugees are understood, that they're welcomed, that they're supported through all the different things that are going to be going through when they first arrive. Cultural adaptation, adjusting to English language. But then also to invite people into the community to meet refugees and see refugees and get to know them. I was a volunteer in a non-profit organization before and I love working with a non-profit organization. And 1951 is the coffee company that are going to help and employ a refugee. And I was a refugee and I want to help refugees. This is definitely a week to come here and support refugees who are getting training and getting employment. And we want to do everything we can to help people who have just come here. You might have a receipt. Yeah, sure.
