Prior to opening Original Breakfast House, owner John Stidham operated almost a dozen restaurants in Northern California. Retiring to Phoenix in 2011, he soon discovered that he missed his life's work so he hunted out a closed up restaurant in front of a newly rejuvenated shopping center in Northeast Phoenix, THE ROCK at 32nd Street. After negotiating a lease with the partnership of Genesis Church and Alice Cooper's Hard Rock Teen Center, the remodeling began. What he ended up with is a modern/70's motif, hip breakfast joint that serves up intense flavors in the form of unique twists on American comfort food. The restaurant is designed to sparkle and scream WOW. From the Joel Hotchkiss 5 foot mobile hanging over the host stand to the retro wallpaper and decor to the "Breakfast Posters" in the ladies room, you will notice the details that enhance the overall experience. Extreme care was taken in designing a menu with local, fresh and organic ingredients. Fresh oranges are constantly being squeezed with a second glass of orange juice being given free of charge. Cage free eggs along with organic milk are big bonuses. The 100% Costa Rican More than fair trade coffee is roasted in Tempe by Ron Cortez. Breads are baked at Arizona Baking and strawberry jam is made at Margie's Kitchen in Tuscon. Even the burgers at lunch come up SPECIAL...100% black angus patties on a brioche bun with chipotle mayonaise for a shockingly low price. Although the restaurant sits in front of a shopping center, the flower and herb gardens surrounding the restaurant, along with the upbeat decor and atmosphere should transform your day to a very pleasant and happy place.
On Saturday We visited the original breakfast house on 32nd Street and Thunderbird. Now the first thing you notice is the n Let'start with the coffee. We love coffee. Their coffee is local, which is a big plus Because we So my wife and I give it a five out of five cups on our rating scale Let's talk about the atmosphere think of a mom-and-pop diner lots of boots and plenty of tables and there's Counter-seating it can be a bit loud, but it's from conversations not from blaring music in the background The service is exceptional attentive and very friendly It definitely makes you feel welcome there the owner can be seen running around Helping and greeting and making sure that the dining experience is top-notch. Now. Let's talk about the food I had the spam and eggs. Y It was divine I personally She is a big-time foodie just We highly recommend it coffee five out of five cups service and ambiance five out of five stars and Food four and a half out of five forks.
