Minnie Colleen Wooldridge passed away just a few years ago due to cancer. I (Kenny Wooldridge) called her "shorty"/Grandma/Bestfriend. Papa, Melvin Wooldridge was her husband and together they created one of the most dominate duos of love this world has ever seen. In 2015, Papa left this world and began eternity with the love of his life. Since their passing I have wanted to create something that would continue their legacy and create a conversation about their life and the love they showered daily on their loved ones. In their honor we will be opening a one-stop shop for gourmet coffee, tea, and eats. Locally brewed craft beer and wine will also be on the menu. Why the name?- They grew up in the town of Watonga, Oklahoma. Grandma was the towns soda jerk at the drugstore's soda bar. Why Coffee?- I remember watching Papa drink coffee every morning. I wanted to be just like Papa so I started forcing that "nasty" stuff down my throat until I grew to be a coffee lover. The majority of my Saturday mornings growing up were spent with Papa in the coffee shops listening to him tell stories of life experiences. This special time with him is something I have always cherished and will never forget. Why Wine?- Growing up there would occasionally be a bottle of red wine found in their fridge. Grandma wouldn't touch "the nasty stuff" as she called it. I never saw my Grandpa drink irresponsibly nor did he encourage that lifestyle. This is part of why I have such high regard for the man. Why Beer?- A year before my grandpa passed away I was able to take him to his first and only OKC Thunder game. At this game he looked me in the eyes and asked me where he could get a "cold draw beer". This was the first and only beer I was able to drink with my Papa. Coffee Shops create an atmosphere for conversation and fellowship. We hope to bring Northwest OKC a place where people like my Papa can bring their loved ones to make those awesome memories.
