Est. 2007. From the reefs of Rincon, Puerto Rico to the sandy beaches of Oceanside, California—Banana Dang was born out of pure necessity. Coffee is our first love. Bananas are the world's most perfect fruit. Being aware that these two core ingredients grow happily and sustainably together is instilled deep in our everyday operations. Having spent the bulk of our lives in love with coffee and caring for our beaches, we had an epiphany—what if we created a space that embraced our passions: Coffee, bananas, and the environment? In 2007, we opened our first coffeebar in the surfing mecca of Rincon, PR and relocated in 2015 to Oceanside, Calif. We’ve devoted our lives to learning and improving our methods—all for the love of coffee and bananas. Banana Dang is a Green Oceanside Business.
What is banana dang? Once upon a time there was a blender roar, a banana smoothie It awakened taste buds, beaten and bored, craft coffee and bananas, paired in one store, with mouths watering and shouted with glee, what is this coffee, what is this smoothie? It was banana dang. So what is banana dang? You may want to know, are there banana dangsters? Did they make it so? Did banana dang come from here or way over there? Did it fall out of a tree or rise out of thin air? Way back in Los Angeles in 2004 banana dang was created by dang and mario off of Venice Beach shores. They had devotion for the ocean, coffee and art, their passions helped them find each other and never part. It was 2007 when banana dang first opened in Rincon, Puerto Rico on 413, the road to heaven. Surfers would stop by before a big wave session to down banana smoothies and lattes, their go to refreshments. The original dangsters sourced local and lived eco-hard core. For coffee and bananas they didn't need a car. Bananas grew Coffee was delivered by roasters who were farmers who lived not that far. They had excellent smoothies and excellent coffee with some names that sounded a little naughty. In 2014 banana dang moved back to Cali to a beautiful beach town with art in its alleys. A crafty town with beverage and food, not sunny LA, but downtown Oceanside dude. This was a short story of how banana dang came to be and how tea dang made the world safe for coffee and smoothies.
