Roots Coffeehouse is all about being connected to your community. Here at Roots, we want to build relationships and processes that bring out the best in our coffee & community. Local is at the heart of what we do as we strive to buy local, be a community gathering place, and craft truly artisan coffee. We have been able to support our community by using local suppliers like Novel Coffee Roasters, Main Street Bakery, Round Rock Honey, Holy Kombucha, Dude Sweet Chocolate, and more. We also feature local artists on our Local Art wall, community events, coffee classes, and support for local charities and causes. On the coffee side, we are committed to making each drink carefully by hand. There are an average of 8 hands that touch every single bean before it ends up in our cups, and in order to honor the farm to cup process, we want to present them in a way that makes them shine. We search for better ways of brewing, research new equipment and methods, and create ways for our customers to learn about the work that goes into each cup starting from the seed.
Mercer County Coffee House is saying goodbye to the area today with its final day of service on Mercer Street. The shop has served customers in the area for five years and it took on the name Wild Roots after changing ownership nearly two years ago. The coffee house offers not only renowned coffee, but also a variety of nutritional food items and smoothies. The owner of the coffee house expresses her gratitude for the support, encouragement and kindness that the customers have shown her throughout the years. To all of the folks that have smiled at us and came in and shared their stories or shared their life with us, it's been a really neat adventure and journey to watch people and kids grow up here to be a part of the growing street atmosphere and the culture here. Just wanting to say thank you for my heart. While today does mark their last day at that location, it's not the end of Wild Roots.
