is about having a good meal with friends and family.
Homemade quiche, breakfast burritos or sandwiches, omelets, snickerdoodle waffles, homemade biscuits, buttermilk biscuits, we make our gravy from scratch as well. Start your day with a meal made from scratch for breakfast or lunch at the Wildflower Cafe. It's head of Linville's fresh new restaurant right on the corner of Route 66 in Peoria in Tulsa. Nothing frozen or pre-made. We don't have a fryer, we don't have a microwave, we don't have a freezer, so we try to do everything really fresh and just made from scratch. Absolutely, oh yeah, yeah you can tell. Richard Deruso is a regular around here. It's his second time in this week and there's plans to be back on Saturday with his wife. I had the Wildflower breakfast, which is excellent. That's two eggs and he'style with hash browns. Your choice of bread, bacon, sausage, and a great piece of ham and the best home fries I've had locally. The menu has a lot to choose from. For lunch, pick up a soup, salad, sandwich, or burger. They serve breakfast all day, so you've got that, they've got specials, they've got the old sandbys There's two versions of that chicken salad, a more traditional one with pecans and the other is sweet with honey crisp apples and grapes. They're very different flavors but both were just wonderful. Vicki Barnes went with a piggy crepe and a side of grilled tomatoes. And it was excellent. I said the grilled tomatoes were Daily specials on the menu start with Meatloaf Mondays. Tuesdays are for tacos. Thankful Thursday is one of the biggest days here. That's when a full Thanksgiving plate is served up hot. Some of the recipes are old family dishes, others culinary creations by Heather and her crew. My kitchen manager has lots of experience in a kitchen so he comes up with really good stuff. It's extremely fresh and you can tell it was homemade. Cookies, cakes, pies and muffins. There's plenty of desserts to choose from too. We have lemon bars, we have cookies, we do oatmeal chocolate chip and oatmeal cranberry and sometimes we throw in some extras. We do the carrot cake is delicious, the cookies are delicious. I have a peanut butter pie, I have a maple cream pie. There's even rice crispy treats top off any of the fantastic meals. All served up in a comfy atmosphere. I love the atmosphere too. I love the wildflower look and the kind of the older generation look of things. I really enjoyed it. When people come in that's what they say. I feel like I just walked into my grandma's house or Heather describes her restaurant as an eclectic mix of vintage and fun. Filled with not only good food but good people. It's not only the food, it's also the people. My main focus in the beginning was obviously good food but also the friendliest stuff in town, that's what I want. I want people to feel good when they come in. Yeah, I think it's great, I'll be back. At the Wildflower Cafe along Route 66 in Tulsa, I'm Jason Grubbs for Discover, Oklahoma.
