Eclipse Coffee & Books has been in Montevallo since 2001. Originally it was designed to be a coffee and bookstore but has evolved over the years to be a cafe, bar, meeting place, music and special event venue, study space, catering operation and overall hang out. We serve a wide variety of food including breakfast all day, seasonal salads, paninis, hot and cold sandwiches and desserts. Our beverage menu is even more extensive with a full service coffee bar, our famous milkshakes, artisanal sodas, beer, wine and cocktails.
It's a Clips Coffee and Books. We started at my husband and I started at 11 years ago. And originally we wanted to be a coffee shop in a bookstore, which is since the name. And since then it's really evolved into being more of a restaurant, we do bar, and it's become a little bit of everything. Hi, I'm Cheryl Patton. This is a Clips Coffee and Books in Monaballo, Alabama. The milkshakes, because of the syrups that we use for the coffees, we also incorporate those into the milkshakes. But we've created a few original ones. We do a pecan pie milkshake, where we put a whole piece of pecan pie into the blender. We also do a strawberry cheesecake milkshake. We're going to talk about milkshakes. Our milkshakes have gotten an award, Best Milk Shake in Birmingham. And we're not really in Birmingham, so that says anything. I've actually only worked here for three or four days now. I'm a total newbie. I actually would come in pretty much every day. I love the coffee here, and they have flavored coffees, like the blueberry muffin and the p I figured it would be a lot of fun to work. My favorite milkshake is definitely Cake Batter. The pecan pie milkshake. If you come here, you definitely have to have a milkshake. Well, a whole piece. A whole piece into the milk. Yeah, it's very, very good. We try to make it as comfortable as possible. We want people to feel We do a Wi-Fi, of course, and people do spend hours here studying or working. I have a lot of local businessmen that use this as a second office. Classic peanut butter and jelly. Bonnabal is a really unique place. It's really artsy, and people are kind of out of the ordinary. There's no more, This place is the same way. It's just a really nice way to kick back and have a good time with different kind of people. I think we have probably more options than most small coffee shops do, food-wise. We're going to come through Montevallo. I think it's probably the best place to come and get, if you want to come through and get an experience of the town meeting with the university very cohesively, I think this place is a pretty good area for it.
