I remember thinking please don't be my business, please don't be my business and it was. Deborah Gooddale remembers the day clearly. It was eight weeks ago on Mother's Day. Despite the heartache of losing the bakery, plans are already in motion to rebuild in the same place. The fire did not discourage the Gooddales. In fact, it's only renewed their commitment to being a big part of the Sunland to Hongdae community. I love it here. I love this space. In fact, the councilman has pledged to do what he can to help expedite the permitting process so the Gooddales can open as soon as possible. We want them to be successful. We need them to be successful. And we also want to cherish the ones that bring the community together. While the Gooddales wait to hear from their insurance to start demolition in order to rebuild, the art community is working on a project of their own.
