The Coffee Roaster has been air roasting fine estate coffees since 1995.
In the early 1990's, Gary Karnes started developing his palette by searching the world for the best cup of coffee. He later opened his first retail location in 1996 in Lincoln, Nebraska and named it The Coffee Roaster. He wanted to show Lincoln the way he believed coffee should taste. In 2009, we moved into our current location at 5022 Old Cheney Road. In 2014, Gary passed the business on to his daughter, Sam Karnes, so that she would keep The Coffee Roaster a family run business. As we continue to grow, we are excited to show the rest of the world what Gary has been perfecting for over the last 20 years. He continues to cup and craft each harvest we receive, so that our coffee turns out perfect every time from our roaster, to your cup. So, what makes our coffee better? We carefully select our coffee from around the world, cup it to find the ideal roasting temperature, roast it in a fluid bed air-roaster, and immediately cool it to maximize flavor and freshness. Last year I put my work in the tech industry to earn a living by smoking coffee. And that's because smoking coffee sounded much more pleasant than other phone conversations. And I didn't see too many representatives of brown-coloured coffee shops. I was bored of drinking coffee that I really didn'the supermarket's grain is trash.
