We have been at the center of Guerneville for over thirty years. We have a passion for serving great coffee along with simple and tasty food.
Coffee Bazaar opened in October 1983. At that time, the space was shared with a video store, book store, art shop, bead store, ice cream stand a tie-dye shop, each having its own booth, hence the reference to a Bazaar. Prior to being used by Coffee Bazaar, the building had been a hardware store, beer hall, and dance hall (not at the same time). The parking lot was once the Guerneville Hotel, a Victorian structure destroyed by fire in the 1960s. The carriage house remains at the rear of the parking lot, now the home of “Studio Blomster”. In 1986, while flood waters were lapping at the front door, Coffee Bazaar remained open, canoes moored on the sidewalk. Over the years, the café grew, and now shares the space with “Twice Told Books”. Current owners, Richard and John carry on the proud tradition of serving quality coffee and a wide variety of tasty food and ice cream. Our coffees are freshly roasted each day by Roast Master Chris Goodman, who has eighteen years of roasting experience. Chris, Richard and John can often be found “cupping” new coffees throughout the week. Public tastings are offered every Tuesday and Friday at 2 pm for customers who want to learn more about different coffee origins and roasts.
Hi, Bix. Listen, you look at that picture of beautiful downtown Denver. And we're gonna talk a lot about this delicious little cup of coffee. This weekend, you can tempt your taste buds with all kinds of Java. With the Grand Coffee Bazaar, it's a first of its kind. It's a big event here in the Mile High City. Go, pronounce your name for me again. Goodman. Goodman. Cohen Goodman here from Huckleberry Roasters is here to tell us more about that. The name is more difficult than the coffee. You have made a fantastic cup of coffee. So tell us a little bit about the coffee bazaar. Yeah, so the bazaar is really this first of its kind event that brings together roasters and brewers and importers. And it's a nice excuse for folks to come to the our mutual friend parking lot, which is down on 28th and Larimer. Taste a bunch of coffee and kind of get this really cool inside look to what the journey of a coffee bean is. Well, take us a little bit through that. What is the journey of a coffee bean and why does it matter with the final product? Cause I'm tasting a cup here and you said this is from, is this the Ethiopia cup? No, this is a coffee from Mexico. Mexico, okay. Well, the general idea is that ingredients matter. So you find really good coffee. That's coffee. Roast it really lightly, prepare it very intentionally and precisely and all of that stuff ends up having a really big impact in the cup of coffee you end up drinking. It seems to me as a lay person who just enjoys a good cup of coffee, not really knowing what goes into it. That Colorado is starting to swing. Yeah, I think the beer examples are really good one because those two communities are very similar. They're both very ingredient driven. They're both very much about kind of doing things on a smaller scale and for a slightly different reason. And yeah, so the coffee scene right now is super exciting. Lots of shops opening up and lots of coffee roasting. Now at the Coffee Bazaar this weekend, are we gonna see colleagues walking around with pretzels around their neck? Maybe, who knows? Something There's no. No, but there's gonna be a lot of really awesome folks there. Some really progressive Denver coffee people. And we're a really tight community. So I think it's gonna be really fantastic. Come down and get your questions answered. Again, this is the first ever grand coffee bazaar. It's this Sunday from 10 to two at the parking lot of our mutual friends at 10th and 10th acre in Brewery Street at 28th and Larimer, basically downtown. Tickets are only 30 bucks. That includes unlimited coffee samples. Unlimited. Unlimited. We have more information on the Good Day page at katvr. com. Jen, I know you drink one cup of coffee a day. Why do you switch over to tea? I do, I do. But hashtag JBneedsCoffee. We made you one. Can you hook a sister up? Come on. Would you Surprise me.
