They make great donuts, great prices, and they have a wonderful staff here. The family business started at their Monterey location in 1950, and the former owner of the shop has been making donuts since he was 13 years old. It'so funny, because my father opened in 1950. I kind of wonder if he thought that place was going to be there for 75 years, When his father passed away, O'Donnell took over running the store with his mother and sister, continuing his legacy in loving memory. When I was five, I used to go with my dad. He wake me up at 2 o'clock in the morning. I'd be So I love it. It was good. It was fun. And we it was, The donut shop gives people the sense of community. It's a lot of memories here. All the friendly people that come to get doughnuts on a daily basis. We all said in there, we talked about the good times and a lot of friends and everybody get together down here. This is just a place to be every day, because it seemed Reds doughnuts makes freshly handmade doughnuts every morning. It's more of an authentic donut and the way they've had And that's why everybody goes cause you always get a really good consistent donut and they use quality products. And there's just a lot of love. And for their 75th anniversary, a dozen regular doughnuts were sold for $5. There was a line out the door and they sold out of all their doughnuts by morning. I want to thank all the customers, all our loyal people that have been coming in for all these years. Thank you. Reporting in Seaside, I'm Joyce Kim, KSBW Action News 8.
