Right now the time is 806 and Fox 17 News is following several local stories for you this morning, including unfortunately what we're seeing partially as a result of the pandemic. More of our small businesses, Jen, that have been forced to close. Yeah, Fox 17 News, Temple Ricky joins us live this morning to explain the story of one business that's been hit so hard. Temple really, it sounds Well, Jen, if you look back to just a month ago, you could have come right here to the Nashville Arcade, grab a seat and get some of your favorite food from Maggie's Cafe. Now, if you look right over my shoulder after 26 years, the business having to close its doors, closed up shop after 12 years, the nonprofit was dedicated to serving our homeless community. A 31 year old mom and pop, the Hermitage Cafe was closed in October after being sold without the owner's knowledge. And if we take a look at Broadway, Rock Bottom, Bruick, Paradise Park, the downtown sporting club, so many names to name the list is just going on. So I asked the owner right here of Maggie's Cafe. That's John Holiday. If he has any advice to places still operating, he says just try and hang in there. If you have the ability to, But I know for me it was, But I think, I think, you know, when that's the right decision, because there are factors you just can't, John says that some of those factors include this building now being under new ownership, a fire suppression system that is about 25 years old. It also has to do with supply chain issues and just the worker shortage that we've been seeing because of the COVID-19 pandemic reporting in downtown Nashville. I'm Temple Ricky, Fox 17 News, your code red station.
