Shipley, Houston's favorite Kalachi and doughnut maker just got a new owner. Levine Lakeman Capital Partners, a private equity firm based in Beverly Hills, California, founded in Austin in 1936. Shipley has 375 locations in 14 states and recently reported strong sales growth under its current owners. Details of the deal are still under wraps for the time being, but certainly we hope the change in management doesn't mean they'll change their beloved recipes.
