BLOC Coffee Company

My name is Donna and I'm the co-owner along with Alex of Block Coffee. We're based right in the periphery of Victoria Park in Canton and we open up obviously a beautiful park at the back. What we intend to do is bring really great coffee to the area with some lovely cakes, sandwiches, pinnies and on the weekends we're going to focus on really healthy lovely brunches. So we want to make a bit of a destination, spot families and people generally. We looked for a long time for a venue to perhaps hold a coffee shop. We looked at the in-cown and we saw a few places with some potential but when we spotted this before this it just was perfect. It really fitted the ethos of what were all to do. Every purpose is a building that was completely defact and it brings life back to a beautiful low building. It provides us with a location for a business and it also makes us that we have to support people so there are six new jobs created by the coffee shop here. Block Coffee is going to be open this Wednesday, the second of May which is a perfect timing for us because we've got some lovely outside space. It'll be really nice to sit out there in the so as well as the cafe maybe being open later, I think that's the week. We will be doing private supper clubs where guest chefs will come in and develop a menu and we'll also be able to hire Block Coffee for a private event for yourself. So if you want a family get together we can organise a chef and we can organise an event just for you specifically.
