Leap Coffee

So this is our fifth artist series coffee launch party and artist exhibition party where we celebrate the artist who has been peer nominated by the other artists who we've celebrated to be featured for this year. She comes in, or he, she comes in and creates a blend of coffee with our roasters, with our team. She gets to name the coffee, make the label, use the art. She creates the blend, the art, the name and she brings to us that. And we bring it to the community in this party form, this art show. When Carrie told me that I was the 2020 artist blend artist, I was shocked. But what I found out when I came to work with their roaster and their team is that coffee brewed, there is an art to making coffee. And when I explained to them kind of the type of coffee I wanted and I saw what went into their roasting process and we had this whole cupping and so it's been really fantastic for me to see that. It's a light to medi It comes across bold at first and then it's very smooth. I wanted the flavor to be very bold. There are coffees that have a lot of subtleties and nuances and I love coffees But my art is very, it's very bold and it's very personal and very powerful and I thought that the coffee should speak to that. And so what you'll taste in Shameless is a coffee that very much knows who it wants to be and is unashamed of that flavor. It's very drinkable. It's very nutty. There's a nuttiness. There's a richness from the She's going to be doing poetry readings as well as process paintings, process of her poetry as she performs it. It'something we've never done before. I'm so excited about it. I'm going to rip back the rug on the creative process of my poems and what we'll be doing is I'm taking three poems that I have performed publicly that people may have experienced that way and I'm literally tearing pages from my journals and notebooks and framing them and I'll be talking about three poems and kind of how they came to be and performing those poems here and then letting people see the creative process in the pages of my notebooks. 44 North East 51st Street. It's basically 50th and Sanofa, 51st and Oklahoma Street. It's a mini industrial area. We are not a cafe, not a coffee shop. We're a roastery but we open up for these events and we're going to have brunchy food by Picasso's. We're going to have live music with Lacey Saunders. It's going to be a party and on Saturdays this area is very quiet. There's tons of parking and it will be super fun. It's free for everyone. It's family friendly. A lot of coffee flowing. It'll be good. It'll be good.
