Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea Canton

It is at time of the week where we want to have a nice great cup of coffee at a unique coffee shop. We want to. Yeah, I know our cups are always empty. They'really just props, Kim. We need to work on how we can get some. Can you find a way to get some to go coffee and bring it back here to the station? I don't know. I think This is a coffee shop that actually started about 30 years ago in Ann Arbor by a couple who met at the University of Michigan. Now they have 39 locations all across the country. This one in Canton opened about six years ago. Here's a look at why this place has been so successful. What started as a small coffee shop in Ann Arbor back in 1993 now has 39 locations across the country. We're a really great place for people to gather to either work, study, just hang out. Brian Kung started working at the original location. Now he's a franchise owner of this location in Canton. When I worked, And also the brand itself. I really like that they were focused on the guests first and foremost, The guests love the variety of what Sweetwater's has to offer, including a unique variety of Asian influenced beverages. We have an Imperial milk tea that we make in-house. It's a Hong Kong style tea. We also have something called a French-Vietnamese Olay, which uses our French chicory coffee that's influenced from coffees from Vietnam. And of course the classics Located right on North Canton Center Road, it's the perfect spot to stop for a quick cup of coffee or sit down and relax with the Canton community that comes here on a regular basis. And we are already seeing people come to claim their local four coffee club mug. And our newest member, Kevin, get over here. He's a regular here at the Canton location. Hi, Kevin. Hello. This is Lisa Chin B. Thanks for being with us this morning. Thank you, Kim. Okay, so tell me, you and your husband, as I mentioned, met at University of Michigan. You decided to open up Sweetwater's Coffee and Tea. Why? Why coffee and tea? Obviously, we love tea and we thought there was kind of a niche in the market for tea as well as coffee. And we come from restaurant backgrounds. And I think, We thought, what would better than to join a coffee house culture? Right, right. And so this is the Canton location, which I mentioned opened about six years ago, but 39 locations across the country. So successful. How do you keep each one unique to the local community? We encourage local community events. So getting to be in your community, sponsoring local sports teams, local schools, doing coffee with a cop, coffee with a councilman, coffee with a coach, and have the community come into the cafes and be able to meet their local residents. So that's, Well, it's obviously working. Lots of people coming in here. The coffee is phenomenal. And you also focus on Asian influenced drinks, which are so good.
