Our mission at Dawson Taylor Coffee Roasters is to source the rarest, most intriguing coffees direct from small estates throughout the world. We proudly utilize traditional drum roasters ensuring all of our coffees are hand crafted to perfection.
I love coffee. I love everything about coffee. I've never had a job in my life that's been so enjoyable and that I wake up every day grateful that this is where I get to call work. Dawson started in 95 with a focus on bringing especially coffee to Boise. Here we are today still moving forward with that same passion for finding incredible coffees and enjoying the journey. I think the thing I love the most about it is it's just really complex and the more I learn the more I feel To the basic person it might just seem like it's fascinating and we take definitely two different approaches from the really dark end of the spectr One thing that I'd say is unique about us is the use of our European style dr Our San Franciscans, they're not run by computers, it's not something you can push a button and have a roast. It'something that a highly talented individual who cares a lot has to be in charge of it. To really decide on the coffees we do a cupping. It's just the specialty coffee association. It's the standard way of making sure that coffee roasters and coffee companies have really a standard language. So that's a really fun process. We gather around the table and we're literally just right out of the cup. You want to aerate that across your mouth as much as possible and just really get the full flavors. It's really an oral nose and taste experience. We do that with anything that we bring in we make sure it is up to our standard. Last year we started in 2018 delivering downtown by bike and it's just been an awesome experience to see how going pedal powered is actually turning out to be more efficient and more effective. We load up to 250-300 pounds in our trailers and yeah, we take coffee to customers on bike. It'saved tons of time without having to find parking spots, better for the environment and it's a lot of fun. Dobson Tailors unique in that we are a group of individuals who collectively come together and enjoy sharing the space and this craft together. We take care of each other, give each other hard time and inspire each other every day to do better. I think I just love how it really brings people together. There are really only a few things that do that in my opinion.
