To me, a red flag is always if a construction proposal is a lot less expensive, or if a contractor says they can deliver the project a lot faster than you've seen from other contractors. When I hear about something that's really inexpensive or really forecasted to be done really quickly in construction, those are always the biggest red flags. It's important that the bids you're getting and the contractors you're meeting with are referred through some form that you respect, Because if you get a bunch of bids from contractors you don't know, they could all be incorrect. It's important that the chain of relationship is strong. So you have a contractor who has a vested interest in making you happy and also in continuing the relationship with whomever referred them to.
