Hi, my name is Doug Hewitt with 1951 Coffee. During the pandemic, we've had to close down our cafes, but that doesn't mean that we've stopped our support for the refugee community. Many of our program graduates were affected during this crisis. Many have lost jobs, many are trying to secure food for their families, or just need financial support to be able to pay rent. So, our Barista Training Program team has shift focus, normally teaching people how to make coffee, now they're providing casework support. Navigating the complicated systems of applying for unemployment, getting food stamps, accessing Medi-Cal would be nearly impossible if you have limited English and no access to a computer. We want to make sure that during this time, the refugee community is not further isolated and left alone. We want to remind them that they're a part of something, and that they're a part of our community, and we're here to help because we care. So, we Thank you.
