Covenant Coffee: "Roasted on Purpose.... For a Purpose"
Covenant Coffee is a roasting company that employs and trains former foster youth in Kern County, California. Our goal at Covenant Coffee is to break the cycle of abuse and neglect that many of these youths have been victims of. We train and equip former foster youth in the art of Coffee roasting, Marketing, packaging. Coffee is available at our website, www.covenantcoffee.org
Giving hope and providing job opportunities, it's the mission of Covenant Coffee, an organization serving former and current foster youth and now they're taking on a new venture hoping to bring that message to many more. There's nothing I really love and appreciate more than just giving great coffee. When David Baldera serves up a latte, he knows he's doing more than making a good cup of Joe. He's helping pay it forward for foster youth. It's going to open a lot of doors. It's going to do a lot of things, not only for foster youth, but former foster youth. Covenant Coffee has been providing job opportunities to kids exiting the foster care system at their oiled-dale location for years and CEO Randy Martin says they'ready to expand. Really it's to be a launchpad former foster youth to get out in the workforce and learn some job skills, meet some great people and just become a better person. So Covenant Coffee partnered with the Bakersfield Racket Club, an organization working to help revitalize downtown. Covenant will take over the restaurant that has been vacant for months. We are all happy because we It is, it's very exciting. Tennis Pro Mark Frederick says the partnership is a win-win. They bring a little excitement. They bring a lot of youth to the club. They bring a lot of people that normally don't come down to the racket club here to the club so they can see what it's all about. Foster youth, brewing up success in their lives and helping pave the way for others to find employment. It's a partnership that's going to do some really awesome things, pretty amazing things. And Covenant Coffee will start serving breakfast and lunch and of course their world-famous coffee. Tomorrow the club is hosting a tennis tournament this weekend. In addition to the restaurant, the club now has a chiropractor and masseuse on staff full time and they'll be offering a special this weekend, two for one memberships. That's this weekend only. Thank you Jackie.
