Big House Beans

To be incarcerated was emotionally very devastating. It was very lonely, cold, isolated. I remember asking myself, is this what the rest of my life is going to look Are my kids going to grow up not knowing their father and having their father be a part of their lives? The last time I was incarcerated I was at the end of my rope. Nothing could feel that pain inside of my heart. The church came around me and loved me and they did not judge me in any way. Jesus completely saved me from a sure death. He met me where I was, broken, broke and lost. And now I am none of those things. I feel that it's my responsibility to give back to the community. My hopes for Big House Beans is to be a light in the community and to create opportunities for people who are coming out of addiction or homelessness or incarceration. Like I did, and to give them an opportunity at job training, job skills and just being able to j We're not asking for charity, we're asking for people's attention to acknowledge the fact that people are trying to turn their lives around. And it is possible and it takes the community to come around them and support them. And if buying coffee from us helps contribute to that, then that's good news. Five years now out of prison, God is just a complete center of my life and it just gets better and better. It doesn't mean it gets easier and easier, but I know that with Jesus I have hope.
