ChocolateDude is a chocolate shop and espresso bar located on historic Route 66 centered in Albuquerque's Nob Hill District.
ChocolateDude Menu Our chocolate creations begin with a premium American manufactured chocolate supplied to us by Guittard Chocolate out of San Francisco, CA. We offer selections in Old Dutch Milk chocolate, Prestige Semi-sweet Dark chocolate and white. Pecans, Walnuts, Almonds, Cashews, Pistachios and Pine Nuts are combined with chocolate varieties, to produce our nut clusters. Combine these with our chewy, buttery caramel, and you have our caramel-nut clusters, or Lobos. Our truffles are creamy, velvety perfection hand- rolled and hand-dipped, offered in a variety of flavors. We carry a peanut brittle that will take you back in time. Paper thin and crunchy, we will offer this with other nut varieties. Milk, Dark, and Vanilla Fudges lead the pack, using our multi-generational fudge recipe that’s been handed down over decades. Other flavors of this traditional favorite, include Pecan, Dark Walnut, German Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Cookies and Cream, and Penuche (Brown Sugar) fudges. All fudges are prepared in a time honored tradition, hand-mixed and hand-formed on our large marble slab, right up in the front of the store for all to enjoy. We also carry a wide variety of chocolate and non-chocolate novelties. Crunchy and Chewy Caramel Apples, and chocolate-dipped fruits will round out the mix. All of our espresso drinks are prepared using Italian brewing methods and equipment, and will be made with gourmet beans imported from Italy.
One of the greatest things about this job is that everybody that comes in to my shop is in a good mood. And the reason why they're in a good mood is because they know they're going to get chocolate. So when I finished this idea to my partner at the time back in 2013, what I really wanted to do was add value to the not-pull experience. Not-pull of course doesn't, or didn't at the time have a chocolate shop, so I thought, well why not a chocolate shop? And then I wanted to take it a step further and make it magical for both young and old. And I figured, well, what was it? It was magical when I was young, and that was a time when Saturday morning cartoons was a big deal. HR club and stuff, land of the loss. You hung out at Spencer's in Coronado Mall, and you listened to El John, King Floyd, and Beagle's. So we make all of our caramels, brittles, toffees, divinities on-site. We hand-dip and hand-roll our truffles. We have all different types of items, dip in chocolate from Oreos to graham crackers. We even have wavy-lays, potato chips. We have the best staff in the world, and I know that not just from personal experience, but also because I hear about it every day on social media. We're famous for our rock and roll artwork, and currently we're featuring some work by Carrie Bergen, who does a lot of our rock and roll art, and her daughter, Sparrow. It'so wonderful to watch adults and children of our life come in here, and that magical look on their face because they know they're about to get something great.
