Good coffee roasted right in Akron, Ohio.

So Acron Coffee Roasters is just a specialty micro roaster here in Akron. We roast everything on site fresh, so all the beans that we serve in drip or espresso are roasted here. They've been roasted within the past, It's all super high-grade specialty coffees, so that's kind of a short way of saying the best beans you can find in the world. I was doing accounting work, and I wasn't having a lot of fun doing accounting work. So I was looking for an opportunity to do something else, and was home roasting just kind of for my personal cons And like I said, I was looking for an opportunity to do something else, and just kind of grew it out of a garage, So freshness is a huge factor in the flavor of coffee. Just the coffee that Americans cons It's an agricultural product, so it's going to stale once it's been roasted. So we And when you're using really high-quality coffee, you really get all these nuanced flavors in it. So when you read our cards, we have the flavor notes in there, which you may or may not taste. I'm not going to say that we're full of it, but those are the kind of those special nuanced flavors that you get with fresh coffee. And once it's passed that time, it starts to degas and kind of just stale. And it won't be bad coffee, it just won't have those real nice flavors that we kind of Yeah, so right now they're going through first crack. It happens close to about 195 to 200 degrees Celsius. And it's a physical reaction where the beans are expanding and actually physically popping or cracking. It's kind of the first indication that the beans are ready to be a cons If they haven't gone through first crack, they're not Yeah, we keep it pretty simple around here. No flavored syrups or anything We're using really kind of high-end coffee that has a lot of cool flavors to it, so we want to show off those flavors. For our drip coffee, we do feature the coffees in pour over. That just so that each cup is brewed fresh when the customer orders it, so they're getting a fresh cup of coffee. We think the pour over method highlights the flavors really well. But our espresso drinks are very popular. We have a specialty drink called a honey cortado, which is a small espresso and steamed milk drink. It's about six ounces total. And we sweetened it with just a little bit of honey, so it's got that nice balance of coffee, but a little sweet and creamy milk to go along with it. We do a lot of education courses as well. So for people that don't know a lot about it, coffee, but want to learn, we have courses here and at the Art Muse We do courses on brewing basics. We'll teach you how to kind of the foundations of how to brew a cup of coffee. It's interesting because it'something that most people drink on a daily basis, but don't really know all that much about. And once you start learning about it, there's a ton to know. There's a ton of different flavors you can experience through a cup of coffee. I think it's a cool way to experience things from around the world every morning. So there's a lot of fun things to do. The customers love to come in to see the roaster, love to come see it in action. A lot of people have never seen raw coffee before or seen the roasting process, so it just kind of makes that connection between the actual coffee itself, the roasting and what they're drinking in the cup.
