Nissan of Augusta is a Car Dealership located in Beautiful Augusta Ga. It is part of the Bob Richards Automotive Group.
The American Nissan of Augusta is giving deputies a brand new armada. It will serve as a drone vehicle to help deputies respond faster in critical situations. It will assist deputies in disasters, crime scenes, missing person searches, and provide a mobile hub to deploy drones quickly. It does save the county a lot of money. When you look at, there's not a way to really say, this is the n But when you think about how we bring in a lot of our services off duty, so there are overtime expenses that are incurred. If we're doing missing person searches, we bring out a lot of resources because we want to make sure we find these people. Sergeant Chris Chavo said the Richmond County Sheriff's Office says saving money also means saving lives. If we're in a wooded area and we're searching hundreds of acres, a wooded area of that size could take days to search. Whereas we can put a drone over it and fly it in an hour. So we cut our response time. That quicker response is part of Miracle Nissan of Augustus commitment to giving back to the community, supporting tools that help deputies move quickly. CEO and owner Michael Murphy says losing his home during Hurricane Helene motivated him to give the vehicle to the Richmond County Sheriff's Office. I lost everything, every possession. Were able to rebuild, we're blessed in that sense, but so many people are not. So the ability to give a vehicle away to help in natural disasters and in missing children, missing people, it's just the right thing to do. Murphy says his grandfather'service in law enforcement inspires him to support those who protect the community. Now, what we're doing today is very special to me because most people don't know, but my grandfather's job was in law enforcement. And because of that, it's held a special place in my heart. Sergeant Chava says the new technology and size of the Armada will help and give deputies more space and flexibility to run the drone program. In Augusta, Francis Floresca, WJBF News Channel 6.
