Tom Wood Automotive Group in Minneapolis, Minnesota is at the forefront of marketing and selling their vehicles online using a custom turntable provided by Bastion Solutions. With the increasing demands in online used car sales, they needed a solution to quickly photograph a 360 degree view of each vehicle. This custom low profile turntable fulfilled the project requirements by reducing Tom Wood's photography cycle time from 35 minutes to 10 minutes per vehicle. The turntable is sized to work with small and large vehicles. At 18 feet in diameter, it can easily handle compact cars and up to 10,000 pound pickup trucks. The low 9 inch height of the turntable allows for its four drive motors to fit underneath with minimal moving parts. These direct drive motors are slaved together, delivering the necessary torque for smooth rotation. The entire package is set up with easy to use controls. Control panel and wireless remote operation is integrated with the photography equipment to automatically take photos at predetermined intervals.
