Ram Country Meats


Welcome to Ram Country Meats! Here, students at Colorado State University work everyday to process beef, pork, and lamb carcasses into retail cuts and products. http://ramcountrymeats.colostate.edu/


Ram Country Meats is a student-led processing facility here on campus that is overseen by three managers and one faculty member. Currently, we have 30 undergraduate students who get to learn the whole process here, from harvest of animals to fabrication, processing, and even retail. Ram Country Meats is a link between agriculture and our community. Working with 30 undergraduate students teamwork is super important. One of the major career skills I have developed here at Ram Country Meats is critical thinking. In the production rooms, we have to make sure we're ensuring not only our safety, but the safety of our customers as well. When working with knives and other large equipment, we have to make sure we're using our critical thinking skills to ensure that safety. The favorite part about working at Ram Country Meats is gaining experience in a pathway that's not typical for brief ed students. Shop at Ram Country Meats!
