at 6 44. We continue to follow breaking news. A meat market is now damaged after an overnight fire. Now fire crews are working to find out what started the fire at Steve's meat market in DeSoto, Kansas. That's where we find 41 action news reporter, Andres Gutierrez. Andres, how bad is this damage? It's pretty bad right now. Lindsay of the Johnson County sheriff right now is guarding the scene here. The fire investigator is right now waiting for the sun to rise up and eventually go into that building. And you could see that the structure sustained a lot of damage as a result of this fire. We're told by our fire officials that someone who lives across the street from this meat market called 911 to report flames coming from the roof shortly after two this morning when firefighters showed up, there was heavy fire. It took firefighters from the Northwest consolidated fire district about an hour and a half to put out this blaze. And because of the extremely cold temperatures they called in Lexa and Olathe, the fire departments there to help out in this particular battling these fire. No one was hurt. That is the good news. But we're told by the Steve's meat market did put out a message on social media saying that they plan to be closed for the next few weeks as a result of this fire. They cause as yet to be determined as we will as the investigator will go ahead and work on that reporting live in DeSoto, Kansas. Andersen here is 41 Action News.
