The Bridal Project

We all love to just dress up and look beautiful. And of course we all have that picture in our mind of the beautiful, the most perfect bridal gown. And you can find both of those things here. So our shopping at the Brides Project is a really unique bridal experience in that all of the funds raised by the sale of the wedding gowns supports people impacted by cancer. And so that means that the Cancer Support Community of Greater Ann Arbor provides free support services to families dealing with cancer. So that might be the person diagnosed themselves, their children, their loved ones. And we provide that all through a variety of programming. Support groups, educational workshops, cooking and nutrition classes, healthy lifestyle classes to help get people moving again, post-treatment. And then also referral services and financial support. So we actually do have a financial assistance program that helps people pay their bills while going through cancer. Oh my gosh. Because we know how expensive cancer treatment can be and so many people go into debt because of their cancer care. Yeah. And so we call that psychosocial care, which really encompasses the entire person. There are psychological needs, there are emotional needs, there are social needs. And all of those things are shown in science and real evidence to be a benefit to the quality of life to people dealing with cancer. And I know my own father battled cancer and I know just having a place to go for resources, it'so confusing. You don't know how you're going to pay for things. And then lots of times you don't know where to go for the answers. You don't even know the questions because you don't realize something exists to be able to help. Yeah, you don't know. You don't know. I mean cancer is a whole new world. It'something that until you experience it, you really don't know how it's going to impact your life or your family. And so to have a place to go where you can connect with others who are also living it is really, it's just so incredibly meaningful and so helpful to people. I mean to get tips and tools and also just evidence and research on what is beneficial. Okay, I love it. And Adelaide, 30 seconds.
