The Magnolia Bride

My name is Nicole Parker. I own the Magnolia Bride here in Kernersville and we've had the store here for five years. I've actually been involved in bridal for almost 33 years, so quite a long time. We do things a little bit differently here. We only work with one bride at a time in the store, so when a bride comes, she'll actually come to the door and ring the doorbell. We have a locked door policy, so there's no interruptions. The phone doesn't ring when a bride's here. We just want 100% of the experience to be about the bride and how she wants to have this experience as well. Some people So ultimately, we bring a bride in. We do a little bit of an interview before they come in just to kind of get some ideas for preferences and budget just to make sure we're not going too crazy in or out of their budget. And then we'll kind of walk through some of those styles that we've picked out for the bride and then the fun starts and we start trying some things on. We also I can't say, But I would say more open necklines. The plunge has been popular, but definitely something with a sweetheart and whether that's, I think right now is actually the best time that I've ever seen for a bride, because you can really pick anything that you want. If you want to be very organic and bohemian, you can do that. If you want a ball gown, you can do that. If you want super clean, you can do that too. So we are seeing a trend right now, and I don't know if it's because of COVID. People are just looking to simplify a little bit, but we are noticing a little bit more of a return to clean, a little more classic styles, But again, if a bride wants a ball gown, we've got ball gowns. If a bride wants, So color has been making kind of itself known again in bridal from pastels to even some black dresses have been on trend. So, but again, it's really a bride can pick just about whatever she wants right now. Our gowns in the store, we started about $1,500. We go up to about $4,500. Most of our gowns fall in the $1,700 to $2,300 price point. I would say two things, know your budget and just be realistic. So don'try on things that are way out of the budget. Or And I'd also say keep an open mind because this isn't a decision that you make with your head. It's one that you make with your heart. So a lot of times we can kind of go a little bit different than from what you thought you were thinking that you wanted for your bridal style. So, going back to what I was saying about color. So this is a new gown that we just received in. It's got this beautiful watercolor print to it. Very flowy, very ethereal. And then we've had quite a few requests for black dresses lately too. So, but I feel So when I'm looking for a black dress, we're definitely looking for something special from that dress. And then we've got some looks. And this has a wonderful kind of lace detail at the hem. We're also seeing a lot of brides looking for some sleeve options. And this one's actually got a neat little kind of slip on sleeve that you can add to the dress. And then back to neckline options. We'really seeing a lot of brides liking this kind of sweetheart shape through the neckline and then either with a plunge or without a plunge. So, and again, you can see from the dresses, there's a huge variety in colors, styles, laces, silhouettes. So, it's really whatever the bride wants right now. I think the thing that's most important to me is really just to make this a special experience for the bride. And that's why we choose to do just one bride at a time. We really want to celebrate you and your love story. And we love to take some time to kind of learn how you met your partner and how that process went. And we just really love to celebrate our brides and kind of just hold your hand through this process. We really feel honored to be a part of it.
