Brides Against Breast Cancer ("BABC") was originally started out of a charity that was founded in 1997. Since then BABC has helped thousands of women buy affordable pre-owned wedding dresses and in turn has donated millions to cancer-related charities. In late 2016 BABC was relaunched from Atlanta, GA with new ownership, new management and formed as a social enterprise company (SEC”) with national charity partners. The new leadership is proven and very experienced, especially important as this is an intensive logistical business with national touring. Examples of SECs include Tom’s Shoes, Life is Good, Beauty Counter. Most SECs give 10% of their profits and free promotional support to their core cause. Consumers like this refreshing approach because many large corporations donate only 1-2% of their profits to charity and pay little or no taxes. BABC supports breast cancer causes nationwide with its partnership with Living Beyond Breast Cancer, who has received a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator for 12 consecutive years for demonstrating strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency. BABC also supports breast cancer health legislative reimbursement efforts with its partnership with Georgia Breast Cancer Coalition Fund, which is one of the largest active breast cancer charities in Georgia.
It's more than just a wedding dress. It is part of a nationwide tour of gowns. Brides against cancer stopped at least some of this weekend. The gown sales contributing millions of dollars every year to free programs and services for cancer patients and their families. There are many ways you can get involved in their cause.
