SERVING HOME COOKED BREAKFAST DAILY FROM 6:00AM-2:00PM
Come back everyone, we are exploring your favorite breakfast spots. Diane is here with the third stop and it's outside of Chicago this time. That's exactly right. We headed to Jay's Breakfast Club over in Gary, Indiana, dubbed the best breakfast in Gary. You suggested it and here we are. This is Jay's Breakfast Club in Gary, Indiana for years. Jay's has been serving up delicious homemade home cooked meals all made with love. Give us about 15 to 20 minutes for this. Here at Jay's Breakfast Club in Gary, Indiana, you'll get all of the good eats from chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, and fried green tomatoes to salmon cakes using recipes from her family's Alabama roots. What comes along with each and every meal is love. Oh it's great. I love it. Yeah, first time here. So the food is good. So we'll definitely be back. After Jocelyn Kelly's tri A senior in college, Jocelyn and her new baby were managing things on their own for many years until she knew it was time to come home to Gary. She put her son through high school when he then decided after graduating he would enlist in the Army. Then in 2014 she knew something wasn't right. I got a very eerie text from him and something in my spirit said call him. She did and talked him through his rough day. Not knowing that would be the last time they would ever speak. And he said to me, Mom I love you but I'm done living. At just 19 and a half years old, Jalen took his own life, driving his car into the water near Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The hardship wasn't over. Six months later Jocelyn lost her job for the first time ever. She needed a break and she started to travel. Then an epiphany. Everywhere I went was a breakfast club. And I said okay God I got it. And so I came back home that October and opened up J's breakfast club. Now in a new building just off of 8094, J's breakfast club is always serving up delicious meals, movies and J-Moses as they're lovingly called all in Jocelyn's hometown. I believe that I've been blessed by everything that I've gotten from Gary and with that I want to be able to give it back. But she's not done yet. She plans to expand her business indiana and beyond, honoring her son along the way. I think you would be very proud. And I would hope you would say good job mom, good job. If you or someone It runs 24-7. You can call, text or message at any time. As for Jocelyn, when she's not at her breakfast club she works tremendously with her community to engage and inspire residents, even young residents to make positive changes to Gary and for those young residents to hopefully one day be their own entrepreneurs. So she really is a tremendous h And has been through so long. She has and I love how she took the tragedy and then she was looking for signs and she said I got it God. I got it. I know exactly what you want me to do here. And she went for it and look at her now. She's paying attention. Yeah, exactly. She's tremendous. So thank you Ms. Jocelyn for allowing us to come into your space and tell your story. We want you to keep your nominations coming and we want you to choose. So where would you Dishing with Diana is running every Friday in November. Keep sending me your suggestions via social media. I love hearing from each and every one of you. And Ms. Jocelyn that food sure did look so good. I'm telling you what. I'm telling you what. Yes. And that was just A little bit. Watch Breaking News on YouTube.
