It's easy to look at a bicycle store or something that'so specialized and think like well I don't measure how many bananas I eat before I ride and I don't wear a lot of spandex like I'm not a cyclist and Bikes are the same thing. It could be someone who is riding with their family teaching their kids to ride bikes and that's part of American cultures to get a bicycle.
