This is Bike Wagon Community College. Today'subject, Bikes 101. A bike isn't just a bike anymore. Sure, they have two wheels, but they've come a long way in the last 20 years. They can't be defined as just road, mountain, or BMX anymore. Each of those categories is multiplied and created babies. Built for speed, pavement, and the wind blowing through your luscious hair or your helmet. First off, road bikes. First up, you roadies love them. It's the Race Bike. This bike features lightweight frame tubing, drop bar handlebars, integrated brake and shift levers, and has a steeper, more responsive frame geometry. It also uses 700 C wheels. Time trial or triathlon bikes, otherwise known as TT or Tri. The TT bike has aerodynamic frame tubing, handlebars with extensions, separate shifters and brake levers, and features a more relaxed frame geometry designed for stability with more weight over the front wheel, which is also a 700 C wheel. Cyclocross bikes. Cross bike has a frame and fork designed to use with special off-road 700 C tires. It also uses a drop handlebar. Often, you will see custom gear setups and brake setups.
