Oak City Cycling Project

Yeah, It's a great space for a bike shop. It's just not intimidating and that's kind of the vibe that we want to encourage and promote. We have community stands here and you can rent those for five bucks an hour. Our service area is right next to the community stand so there's just a lot of chatter and banter and joking that goes on between us and our customers. They're able to come in here and know that they can ask questions and get things answered. And that's, They really make me feel welcome. As a female I can come in here, ask any question. They just easily feel each client out. I've seen 70-year-olds in here and I've seen children, tiny children. What Oak City brings to community is more community. On third Thursdays we are hosting a cruiser ride that leaves the shop at 7. 30 and we're each taking a turn, It's probably the slowest organized ride in Raleigh so it's very casual which is good. It gives people a chance to talk and laugh and, This next one is going to be a park, your park is themed so we'll head up three different parks and just enjoy the space that we're in showing folks that you can ride to a park and you can just hang out there and that can be an exciting evening for somebody or you can go to the top of this parking deck and there's like a crazy view that you probably never would have gone on if you weren't with this group of, One of the greatest things about having the shop and doing rides like that is you get to share what you love with a bunch of people and a lot of them have been to your friends and then it's really cool when people you don't know show up and, So it feels really good to be able to share,
