"ride for the fun of it!"
NBX is your local, family owned bike shop and RI's largest Trek Bicycle dealer. Voted "Best of RI" by Rhode Island Monthly. In May 2007 NBX was created when we purchased the family owned Narragansett Bikes, founded in 1989. Then, in May of 2013, Reed Caster, the third generation owner of Caster's Bicycles, sold his family business to us and felt that in doing so, was keeping the business "in the family." Hey, I'm Doug and I'm here at NBX Bikes in Narragansett. I've talked a lot about them on the air. I bought a few bikes for gifts over the last year. I'm finally ready to get mine. So the way NBX has it set up is you go to their website nbxbikes. com and you can set an appointment to come in and look for a bike. Now right now there are some, Everything's been so screwed up because of COVID. So the best thing to do is come down if you're thinking about getting a bike for yourself. Get fit, hunt for one online with Matt who owns the place. He'll put you in the right direction and then order the bike and it'll come and it'll be ready to go and it'll fit you perfectly. They've got a lot of stuff in stock as well. I'm personally coming in to get fit for a bike. I want to make sure I get the right bike because I'm heavy and I need the bike to not cr So I have my mask. They do practice the social distancing. They're very safe. That's why they're doing it by appointment. So we're going to head in and take a look at some bikes. Get with Matt, see what works for me, see what they have in stock and see what they have online that I can order. All right, so now I'm inside NBX with owner Matt. Matt, I'm going to be fit for a bike today. You're going to show us how to do it. A couple of questions I have though first is what kind of bikes do you carry? So we have a full range. So from mountain bikes that we're standing in that environment, electric assist bikes, the e-bikes, hybrids, which are just fun neighborhood bikes, the bike path bike, and then we have road bikes for the enthusiasts. So it's really, But I'm here to, I think a mountain bike is what I'm looking for now. I've got a road bike and a cyclotox bike that I used to use. I With COVID, I think a lot of people have been back. It really is. There's a rejuvenation and it brings back to, It's a great activity. It's helped me to serve a lot of purposes. And ultimately, there's a bike for everybody. Let'say I'm looking for a bike. I come in, we do the whole thing on the phone. I call, I make my appointment to come in and get fit for a bike. What would be the next step? So a lot of times right now, when this situation, We're going to talk a little bit about that prior to you becoming an English student, But tell me what you want to do with the bike. How do you want to play around with it? How is it going to change your life, And then when we determine that, so now it's a mountain bike. We're at that stage. We're going to get you some options for not only the style of the bike, because even within those categories, then we're also going to kind of understand how it's going to give you the best fit for the experience. Okay. Well, we could ride the same bike, that's obvious, right? But we could run the same bike, but we're going to be two different frame sizes. So that makes a big difference in terms of how we'really, how you enjoy the product, how when you're out there. So it comes, it takes a little bit of time. There's going to be time you're going to come back to us and say, I'm a little bit uncomfortable. Can we adjust this? Can we do that? So, so that would be the next step is really pulling some bikes out. We can show you some stuff on the computer based on maybe not having something, And then go for them. Let's do it. We're going to try it out and see if they make one that can handle my weight That's my biggest fear. And I know you've got it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Watch this. Ooh. That's awesome.
