February is a time when many reflect on the significance of black history. A North Minneapolis barber shop is paying homage to influential African-Americans from our past and present. And this week's Behind the Business Heidi Wigsall takes us to Reflections Barber Shop. At Reflections Barber Shop in North Minneapolis, haircuts and history go hand in hand. I was very intentional about that at the barber shop when I opened it. That's why I named it Reflections. Secretary David Smith Sr. opened his shop in the Victory neighborhood nearly a year ago. Yeah, I've been cutting hair for 13 years and it's been a skill and a trade that I just admire doing every day. I look forward to it. Looking forward to making others feel their very best. Never allow the culture's identity of beauty to find who you are. Embrace the true beauty that's you. It's a place with great conversation but it's also, I would think, a hub of our culture. It's almost A place to be present. Man, I think that was a good look. And Reflect on the Past. I really wanted to shed some light on the pillars that came before us on the shoulders of giants that we're standing on to let us know that it's boundless, So Zachary created the Reflections Lounge. And the room includes a mural by Helping Hand Companies. So I have some past, l Zachary is creating room for community.
