Brickyard Barbershop

Hi, my name is Chris Bankett and I'm a barber. I've been a barber for 10 years and I hope I never have to do a different job ever. When I was a kid, I loved heavy metal music and I always wanted to have this crazy long hair from a mullet to a bilevel, perms, frosted mullets, lots of hairspray. My hair was super important to me because I wanted to look really cool. My mom always said, someday you should be a hairstylist, so you can wear your hair however you want. 20 years later, I finally decided to take her advice. So I chose to go to school to learn how to cut hair and quickly realized that I loved the tradition of barbering. I loved how it felt, the camaraderie of it, the community of it. I 10 years later, I decided that it was time to open up my own shop and so we bought this building and here we are in what's going to be a brickyard barber shop. I am doing this because I love barbering and I want to give people a great place to come and I want to give other barbers who love it as much as I do a great place to work. It's not just about you sitting down and giving a quick haircut and kicking you out. We want you to really enjoy the experience. You're supposed to look forward to it. It's going to take a lot of work to turn this old building into a brickyard barber shop.
