Westside Barbers

My name is Todd Hager. My name is Al Pope, my co-worker. Todd, he actually married my first cousin, so that's kind of how we know each other, and that's how we became business partners. Al and myself own the barbershop, yeah. Barbering isn't something I ever thought I would do. Todd was actually just a really good liar, and he told me how great it was and talked me into it, so that's how I wound up here. Owning a barbershop, it's not too bad. It's a service-based job, so I enjoy doing this. I always joke around. I couldn't imagine having a real job. I've been cutting hair now for a little over six years. I've born and raised Mount Pleasant. Most of my family'still in the area. I live just outside of town now, but if anyone asks, I'm from Mount Pleasant. Yeah, my favorite haircut to do definitely is a buzz cut. Five minutes there out the door. I don't really have a favorite haircut to do. Sometimes the more challenging ones are more fun to do just because of the challenge. We fix quite a few home haircuts. We always have a lot of fun with them, and usually see them back after we fix it. They don'try using the clippers themselves after that. I've had a beard for two days now. Now I grow a beard in the winter, It keeps me warm, and I knock it down in the s It's not bad. That's a pretty good gig being a barber. You got set hours. There's nobody coming in to get the haircut at midnight, so when you lock the door, you go home, and that's it. You need a lot of nice people. I do It is a challenge. You get the little ones that want to wiggle around. You get some that it's about the last thing they want to do is get a haircut. But if you can get past that, I have a lot of fun with them. I have kids myself. If you can get on their good side, they enjoy coming to get a haircut, and it just makes things go a lot smoother if they We try pretty hard, and we get along with most of the kids that come in here.
