The name The Gathering Place Coffee Co. is an abbreviation of our mission statement and the summary of our intentions. This specialty coffee shop seeks to be a home away from home for the community of Shawnee, OK, providing a space to meet comfortably, fellowship, and build relationships. The building was designed to include large and diverse spaces capable of accommodating many types of gatherings. The space includes everything from an event space (and yoga studio) to a reservable meeting room to a large open seating area for groups as well as individuals to enjoy. We are dog friendly, offering patio seating with a puppy (pupper, doggo) station for dog lovers. We encourage you to come and enjoy a cup of specialty tea or coffee, put your feet up, let your guard down, and make a new friend. Stay as long as you like.
You're looking at a dream come true. This is the gathering place, the riverfront park that is the pride and joy of all of Tulsa. Terracon was involved with the gathering place six years before the doors opened. Transforming previously undeveloped riverfront property into an iconic destination takes a lot of successful collaboration and unique expertise. One of the things that says Terracon a part on this project is our ability to draw up on our nationwide resources. The gathering place is part of our full local professional staff as well as geotechnical engineers from our Phoenix office and drillers from our Cedar Rapids office. Anytime you're drilling and designing structures near a river area, you're dealing with a lot of variables in the soil. All of the hills that you see around the park were actually created out of river sediment. If you're not familiar with the engineering properties of soil, it may not seem The park also has four land bridges that are unique to the United States. These land bridges are also covered with river sediment that have been heavily reinforced. A creative and challenging design element of the park was to use construction materials native to Oklahoma. For example, many concrete structures throughout the park are wrapped with native stone to give it a more natural look. On a project of this scale, problems crop up as the design moves forward. So we had to be flexible and fast to be able to respond to those problems so that the design can move forward in a timely fashion. We performed a variety of tasks were uniquely qualified to do, I'm proud to say were able to build our clients confidence in us for those additional services. TerraCon understood the vision for the park. Were really excited to bring our best resources to the design and construction.
