Custom Cakes, Decorated Sugar Cookies, French Macarons, Gourmet Cupcakes, Rainbow Cake Balls, and so much more! (Beaumont, TX)
Sweet Requests was created on January 21, 2012. Before Sweet Requests was born, Thomas and Josh had been making many different cookies and cakes just for fun. They had always shared their desserts with family, friends, and coworkers. Many, if not all, of those people suggested that they sale their baked goods for special occasions. With Josh being a cancer survivor, their first sale was for non-profit at the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Beaumont, Texas. 100% of what they made that day went to help find cures for cancer. They had made many different cookies for the fundraiser that day from chocolate chip to reese's cup to mexican wedding cookies. Although the event rained out halfway through, nearly all the cookies were already sold! They were a hit! It wasn't until the end of December 2011 when they discovered and started making and decorating sugar cookies. The hand decorated sugar cookies is what launched the new online bakery, Sweet Requests, and becomes the star of the new, local online business. On August 5th, 2013, Sweet Requests launched their new name, "Designer Desserts." Check out all of our sweet creations in our photo albums!
After a day at the beach or frankly any day at all, if you have a sweet tooth, the only place you want to be is designer desserts. I'm here with Paul to find out about the first interesting thing about designer desserts, which is the fact that you have 108 flavors of cupcakes. That's absolutely. We have all of our signature and seasonal flavors that we rotate through on Alright, so on any given day, let'say today, how many flavors do we have in the shelves? Right now we have about 45-50 flavors. What is the most popular? I would say for sure the pink champagne. Do you really put champagne in a cupcake? Well what we do, we do May I? Absolutely, dig in. Okay. Best way to enjoy it. Now the second most interesting thing about designer desserts is the fact that you are the oldest cupcake shop in the entire Northwest Indiana area. Is that correct? Yes ma'am, we've been here since 2004. Now since you've had so many years to establish your reputation, I understand that you have people coming not only from all over the United States, but around the world. It's just today actually, we had two tourists visiting with VU from Thailand. And our third interesting thing is, not only do you have two storefront locations, but you also have this magnificent thing called a cupcake truck. That's right. Tell me about it. So it's basically a 20-foot-long food truck that we can take 10 of our most popular flavors to anywhere around here. In fact, if you wanted to, could you take that to the Indiana Dunes? Yeah, we actually do the fireworks show at the dunes every year. So to recap our visit to designer desserts, our three interesting things are, n And n So from brownies to cookies to cupcakes, if you have a sweet tooth, this is where you want to be, one of my favorite places indiana Dunes country.
