From 1987 to 1991, Tom Doran was President of Bell’s motorcycle helmet division. His primary responsibility was to interact with professional racers, serious enthusiasts and everyday customers alike, in order to determine what they were looking for in a helmet. Tom bought the company in 1991 and quickly re-established Bell Motorcycle Helmets as a leading brand for safety, comfort, style and reliability. In 2003 Tom sold the production rights to Bell Sports but retained the web site www.bellhelmets.com that he created. In 2012 the web site was sold to Bell Sports as this would allow Tom the creative freedom to build his new site www.thehelmetman.com and fill it with all the top brands in the sport.
