First, log into Google Ads with your account. Before you start tracking, make sure you already have a campaign that sends people to a page on your website where the form lives. Tracking only helps if you're actually driving traffic to that form, so confirm your ads or keywords point to the correct landing page. Click goals in the left panel, go to measurement, then conversions, and choose new conversion. We're telling Google Ads what counts as a success. Choose website as the source, since the action happens on your site. For the event, select form submission. If you're set up redirects to a thank you page after the form, you can track that page load instead. Both options work. Just pick the one your site uses. Now configure the details. Give the conversion a clear name If each lead has a known value, add a dollar amount. If not, you can leave it blank and still optimize later. Set count to one so multiple submissions from the same click are only counted once. The default conversion window is 30 days, which suits most lead cycles. When that looks good, click create and continue. In the next step, add the conversion tracking tag. You can use Google Tag Manager, which I recommend if you already have it, or install the tag manually. For manual setup, copy the global site tag and the event snippet provided. Place the event snippet on the thank you page that appears after a successful form submission. For Google Tag Manager, create a trigger for your form submission or for the thank you page view and link that trigger to a Google Ads conversion tag using the settings you just created. Quick note, I've placed the official Google Ads link at the top of the description so you can get to the platform and doc Once the tag is in place, verify it's working. Submit a test form on your site, then return to the conversion screen and check the status col After your test, you should see it move to recording conversions. That confirms the setup is tracking correctly. From here, monitor performance. In your campaigns or ad groups view, add the conversions col Use that inside to adjust budgets, refine targeting or tweak ad copy to improve cost per lead over time. And that's it. You've successfully setup Google Ads to track form submissions. If this helped, consider subscribing. And
