TBT Racing

Drag Racing and motorsports events

Pro Level Automotive, Inc. is a multi-faceted company that houses, in addition to its automotive shops, TBT Racing, a Professional race team that competes at several NHRA/IHRA nationally sanctioned venues across the country from New Jersey to California. TBT Racing currently has three competition cars and competes in three classes in several professional race organizations across the country. Pro Level Automotive markets and sells to its customers the same high quality, extreme duty, high performance auto parts used in its own competition cars. In addition, Pro Level Automotive utilizes its competition racing participation to advertise and promote to the public its products and services, TBT Racing Products, and SoCal Smog Pros. Pro Level also promotes the products and services of its title sponsors, Xtreme Racing Engines, and Xtreme Race Cars. A typical national race competition event consists of three to four days of racing. The first day is reserved for testing; the second and third days are qualifying rounds; and the final day consists of elimination rounds. Each race class has a 16-32 car field. A racer’s qualifying position determines where the racer is placed on the competition ladder for eliminations. During eliminations, the fastest qualifying car races the slowest qualifying car. For example, the number 1 qualifier races the number 16 qualifier, or number 32 (depending on how many cars are entered in the field). The number 2 qualifier races the number 15, or 31, and so on, until only two cars remain. The winner of each round returns to race in the next round, and the loser is eliminated from competition for that particular event. The last two cars will enter the final round of eliminations, and the winner of that round will be awarded the larger portion of the purse money and event winner of the class. The runner up will collect a smaller portion of the purse money, and the semifinalist will be awarded a proportionately lesser share of money. Our race team is a seven man operation led by Owner/Driver, Titus Barkley, affectionately known as Terry, "The Captain!" Terry began his racing career in 1999, when he started racing with the Pacific Street Car Association, PSCA, in the True Street class. For five years, Terry raced principally as a hobby, and served part-time duty, competing at four-to-six events a season on the West coast with the PSCA. By 2006, Terry began competing at the professional level. He assembled a four-man racing team, procured a title sponsor and several contingency sponsors, propelling the team into competitions at twelve-to-sixteen events a season for the next three years. In 2009, the team expanded to competing in multiple organizations and associations, developing a national presence in the professional racing scene. With a new competition car and engine, Terry began to compete at the highest level in the Extreme Drag Radial and True 10-5 classes on a full-time basis. By 2011, Terry had garnered a runner up position in the championship points series with the PSCA, and became the very first person to win a “Wally,” drag racing's most coveted trophy, in a heads up, DOT tire racing organization in the inaugural season of the NMCA West, and a first place showing in the XDR/True 10-5 DOT class. http://www.nhra.com/results/thewally.aspx http://www.pscaracing.com/driverprofiles/xtreemedrivers.html. In 2012, Terry suffered a devastating loss in a crash at a national event at Pomona, CA. where his beautiful 1970 Chevy Nova was totaled. He was unhurt, and walked away from the fiery wreck in large part due to the magnificent safety equipment onboard the well-built, True 10-5 car. https://youtu.be/Tgz2jmOoejc. In early 2015, after a two and a half year hiatus and rebuilding period, Terry was back in the driver's seat with a new car, affectionately-named “Lula Bell,” after Terry’s late grandmother. Lula Bell is a more modern, aerodynamic, purpose built, race car. The 2000, Hemi powered, Chevy Camaro, built by Xtreme Race Cars sports the same flamed out paint scheme as the 1970 Nova, but is a little “angrier,” and set to do battle in the drag radial racing world. http://www.dragzine.com/news/terry-barkleys-new-true-10-5rvw-camaro-is-an-absolute-head-turner/ Racing crew consists of: Crew chief and chassis builder, Carl Stevens, Sr. Tuner/Driver, Carl Stevens, Jr. Power management specialist, Patrick Barnhill, and Crew members, Kiley Marco Williams, Matt Sindajaes, and Jake Amatisto. Currently, Terry Barkley and the team are seeking to compete at an even higher level on the national racing scene by trying their hand in the top class in the country, Pro Modified, with a new Pro Mod set up and competition car for the start of the '2017 season. The TBT Racing team is currently a member of, and competes in, the following professional racing organizations: PDRA, NMCA, NMCA West, PSCA, WCHRA, RTRA, and OSCR.
