The FCC Automotive Technology Department's curriculum prepares the student for entry-level employment as a skilled technician in the automotive service and repair industry. Students will perform actual service and repair procedures in the automotive laboratory. This curriculum has been certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). The FCC Automotive Technology Program at Fresno City College has been successfully meeting the needs and requirements of students and the Central Valley automotive service facilities. Students receive comprehensive training on vehicles and systems utilizing state-of-the-art tools and equipment through a series of NATEF (National Automotive Technical Education Foundation) and OEM-certified courses. The FCC Automotive Technology program prepares students for work in new car dealerships, fleets, independent service facilities, and retail franchise service facilities. The FCC Automotive Technology program provides entry level as well as advanced technical training from start to finish. Fresno City College’s GM ASEP program is the most comprehensive in the Central Valley giving students a broad base of bumper-to-bumper experience and knowledge. The GM ASEP Program is an innovative educational program designed to train students to start as an entry-level service technician to begin a career of lifelong learning with the ability to become a certified intermediate to advanced level service technician. The GM ASEP (General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program) at Fresno City College has been successfully meeting the needs and requirements of students and the Central Valley GM Dealership and ACDelco Professional Service Center (PSC) community for the past 22 years. Students receive comprehensive training in GM vehicles and systems utilizing state-of-the-art tools and equipment through a series of NATEF (National Automotive Technical Education Foundation) and GM-certified courses. The GM ASEP program prepares students for work in GM Dealerships/Fleets by awarding nationally recognized GM ASEP certification. The courses provide students with basic and advanced knowledge to meet the requirements for the (A.S.) Associates of Science degree, and fulfill undergraduate general education requirements for a four-year institution.
My major is automotive technology, general motors and ASAP. The the instructors in the Francis City are very knowledgeable. Marty being here from next day to 6 and on, he's very knowledgeable in the field, he has great experience in the field and here at the college.
