Doug's Service Center is located on the northwest corner of 6th & Fairlawn, in Topeka Kansas. The owner Doug Rosencutter started the business over 20 years ago at this location. Doug and his mechanics provide auto services & repairs to most makes and models of vehicles on the road today.
And new at six tonight, police are looking for someone who broke into a Topeka repair shop. It happened at Doug'service center near 6th and Fairlawn. KSNT News reporter Dan Garrett joins us live from there now and Dan, you found out the shop'security camera actually caught the thief on video. Brooke, that's right. Doug Rosencutter woke up yesterday morning to a security alarm going off. And by the time he got here to the store, the thief had already done thousands of dollars worth of damage and run off. Now the video shows that the thief crying opened the door with a crowbar. They then stole car keys before running out the door. And Rosencutter says he is taking extra precautions so this doesn't happen again. The keys are all going home with me at night, which is not fun to have to carry all the keys home, but We've always had them in the lockbox there and they probably did open. Tobeka police say to contact crime stoppers if you have any information on who this person is. And Rosencutter says other car stores had similar break-ins last week, but so far we do not know if these are connected. Live in Tobeka, Dan Garrett, KSNT News. Alright, thank you Dan.
