Certified Transmission is an award-winning company committed to customer satisfaction through delivery of superior remanufactured transmissions.
Peter Fink opened Certified Transmission in 1979 in an abandoned 2 bay gas station in Omaha with $1000 and his tool box. Since that time Certified Transmission has grown into one of the largest independent remanufactured transmissions repair and remanufacturing facilities in the country. Certified Transmission has 13 of its own retail stores in 4 states in addition to shipping transmissions to customers nationwide.
Over 25 years ago, certified transmissions started rebuilding transmissions one at a time in a retail shop. Today, certified transmission remanufactures well over 25,000 transmissions in a year. Based in the Midwest, certified sells transmissions to the nation from its three plants in Fort Dodge, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska. Cores are received into our facilities, identified and staged for production. Transmissions are remanufactured one at a time. The teardown and reassembly are handled by one individual who is accountable for that transmission. Our builders, who specialize in certain transmission families, are part of our strong team of 290 passionate individuals. After teardown and initial cleaning, certain parts are remanufactured to exacting specifications to meet or exceed. The in-house remanufacturing and testing process of front p Many of these processes are used to correct specific issues. Some of them are inherent design flaws. These skills, machines, and processes require the use of new component parts or are necessary to make the use of new component parts effective. Our builders are true craftsmen, in a sense, artisans, who feel their transmission, Re-manufacturing is considered by many to be far more energy efficient than recycling. Hence, we reclaim what we can and replace with new as the process dictates. 9500 transmission cores require 9500 torque converter cores. Torque converters are cut open and completely disassembled. Hubs are removed, 98% of which are replaced with new hubs. The clutch lines are removed and replaced with new. When all components have been thoroughly cleaned, machined back true, reassembly is done, run-up checked, the converter is digitally balanced, welded up, and sent to parts to be delivered to the builder to install in the transmission. Certified transmission has 12 dinals of various types to handle everything from the latest computer-controlled transmissions to the original hydraulic transmissions. Periodically, we analyze the dinofluid for parts per million of sediment to assess the cleanliness of our process. When your order is received, it is checked for application accuracy and delivered to shipping, where the transmission is carefully secured in a shipping container with a protective custom-molded insert for shipment to your facility. The job done right at the right price.
