Today we're completing the six-piece Indian Spirit set that were creating earlier. You saw our first video and I'll put pieces of that on this show, but this is actually completing the set of six. The first video was just doing one, so we wanted to figure out how to do this. This time we did a brushed-on coat of resin to seal in the fibers this time, but yet we still had a little more trouble with that. So we really, just So you can imagine went through a lot of resin on this project. At the end of this video slideshow will be a slight or very quick video of how we built the first one and hopefully this would be something you can do in the future. You can imagine that we lost the counters in our kitchen due to this project for quite a few days, but here is the finished set of six Indian Spirit resin-coated boards. Now here are some clips from our earlier video. Enjoy! Today we're doing something kind of special. We got this fabric from an art store the other day with a beautiful Indian design on it and we thought, So it has different kinds of pictures on it, so we're going to take one of those pictures and cut it out and put it on a board and we're going to clear coat it. The first thing we did is we glued it on using a Modge Podge and once we got ready to do that, we sure you got the wrinkles out of it and then when she installed it, she painted the edges to match the edge of the fabric and then painted the sides black so it was consistent. So all this was done with a clear coat so let's get going. So get started with this project. Sherry ironed out any wrinkles that might be in the fabric and then started getting ready to put Modge Podge on the project. So to put this fabric on, we worked together. I held the tips and she gently brought it down so we can make sure that we didn't have any creases or wrinkles in the fabric and so it was kind of a long process but we wanted it to be just perfect. Next thing Sherry did was to start painting the edges the same color as the fabric to the edge and then also did the sides in black. So before we poured anything, Sherry made sure that the fabric was as clean as possible but we found out after we did the pour that some of the fibers from the fabric went into the resin and floated to the top. So we actually had to do two pours and we still had some of the fiber coming up so then later we decided to go ahead and let that dry and the next day we're going to clear coat it again. Well were really happy with this full set. They came out beautiful. Sherry sanded the backs and put some beautiful hangers on the back with cable and they're going to be gifts for some of our family and we're going to be making more in the future to possibly sell.
